![]() Workflow Tip: Routes / Trips do not sync *from* XT *to* Mobile App Garmin Explore. Just open the route to see the list of points, right click on the point, toggle the alert status. Try changing some of your via points to shaping points in Basecamp to prevent route splits. I use some via points, for places I actually intend as actual stops, and as a editing aid to segment the route, but I prefer to use shaping points as much as possible. I don't like to use more than I need, beacuse all the warnings that the via points are coming up can be annoying. Some of my day loops on the backroads of SE Ohio are over 400 miles, but I seldom use more than a dozen via points. I don't use an XT, but I don't think it will automatically switch to the next segment of a split route. If you have more than 30 via points, the GPS will split the route. That gives you up to 3655 points to define a route. Click to expand.A single route for the XT/59x/39x can have up to 30 via points, including start and end (which alert), with as many as 125 shaping points (don't alert) in between any two via points. ![]()
